چکیده

Abstract Infiltration stormwater control measures (SCMs) have the potential to contribute towards mitigating effects of urbanization on downstream receiving waters. SCMs are most often successful when in‐situ saturated hydraulic conductivity ( K sat ) is well characterized. In this paper numerical solutions Richards’ equation used quantify bias seven infiltration measurement methods, removing natural variability and random error from analysis. The methods evaluated in study include double ring infiltrometer, Saturo modified Philip–Dunne Turf‐Tec IN2‐W USBR 7300‐89 permeameter, Guelph permeameter. Seven homogenous, isotropic soil textures were simulated at four initial moistures for resulting a total 196 simulations. dimensionless defined as “measured” determined by given method divided input experiments. quotations identify occurs numeric experiment rather than physical experiment. sand through silt loam soils that typical SCMs, range 0.7–6.2. was only infiltrometer produced >2.5 these soils. Experiments in Orbit Determination Using Numerical Methods*

The applicability of advanced numerical methods for the solution of the orbit determination problem is studied. The dynamics of the observed object is written as a system of integral equations. This system is solved numerically by representing the components of the force function as linear combinations of B-splines and by applying the multigrid technique. In an outer loop the orbit determinatio...

Optimizing Financial Asset Pricing Using Quantitative Behavioral Bias Measurement

Optimization of pricing financial assets less an emerging discipline that attempts to model the impact of biases that investors in asset prices. This article provides an overview of the theoretical foundations and challenges and offers some solutions in this field. The paper is divided into two parts. In the first part of the paper, an overview of the selected literature is presented on key the...

Hydrologic Model Developed for Stormwater Infiltration Practices

Rain garden (RG) has been developed and applied to low-impact designs for the purpose of water quality enhancement. A RG consists of a surface storage basin and subsurface infiltrating layers. The storage basin is designed to be shallow, flat, and wide with an overtopping weir to pass excessive flows, while the subsurface infiltrating system is composed of two layers of filtering media. The upp...

Numerical Experiments with Toeplitz Matrix Approximation Methods

Positive semidefinite Toeplitz matrix constraints arise naturally in a variety of problems in engineering. This paper deals with the numerical of this problem. Our approach is based on (i) interior point primal-dual path-following method; (ii) a projection algorithm which converges globally but slowly; (iii) the filterSQP method which is faster. Hybrid methods that attempt to combine the best f...

Spatiotemporal evolution of clogging of stormwater infiltration systems

Clogging of stormwater infiltration systems is an issue of major importance. Actually, it does not only lead to flow rate reduction and increased ponding but it also reduces treatment capacity when infiltration systems are equipped with bypass devices. The aim of this paper is to present the results obtained in this context. The first objective is to understand and characterize clogging evoluti...
